The EU plans to develop a long-term strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2020, in line with the Paris Agreement. The strategy will provide a vision of a low-carbon economy that protects the planet, protects its citizens and strengthens the economy. It will analyze the sectors of the energy system and other sectors, the role of innovative technologies, sectoral integration and consumer choice, as well as its implications for security of supply, investment, competitiveness, growth, competitiveness and employment.
